History

The estate was originally owned by the Hapsburg empire, and was used to grow and refine Oil and Wine. This particular property was the site of the original refining factory, and certain aspects of its design are evidence to this fact. The olive trees that were originally used by the Hapsburg factory are still growing on the estate, and continue to produce some of the finest Extra Virgin Olive Oil in the region. The 150 olive trees on the property have been known to produce in excess of 300ltrs of Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil per harvest. Why not come visit and sample some of last years oil? There are many other fruit bearing trees on the property including almond, fig, plumb, apricot, peach, cherry, apple, pear and kaki.

Location

The 2 hectare property is located some 4km north of the seaside town Cecina in the heart of Tuscany. The property is 25min south of Pisa airport, and only 1h15mins from Florence. The property has easy access to the Aurelia, meaning a facilitated entry to the excellent network of highways and roads that will bring you to the most amazing cities and villages Tuscany has to offer. It is situated on a small connecting road with less than 6 other properties, most of which are agriturismo-hotels, guaranteeing privacy and a noise-free environment all year round.

Security

The house was originally restored and reconceived as a home for the owners' large family. The family did not want to risk the theft, or damage, to any of their valuable property, and so went to great lengths to physically secure the property against any attack. The walls are at the thinnest point more than 40cm thick, and in some cases more than 1mtr. The windows all have wooden sliding shutters and iron grates, as well as triple-glazing, and retractable mosquito net. The exterior doors (excluding the main entrance door) have toughened steel frames, with wooden fascias, and have a dual stage, 3 point bar locking system. The glass inset is bullet-proof to EU standards. The main entrance door is toughened steel and has a solid wooden facia, as well as a triple stage, 3 point bolt locking system. The house has a radio signalled alarm that is monitored 24hrs a day.

Mod-Cons and Leisure Facilities

The current owners spared no expense when carrying their luxurious modern lifestyle to tuscan climes. The house boasts a 198 cubic meter unheated pool which helps to cool the blood during the summer heat. Within the house there are a host of modern luxuries unheard of in this part of the world, including a dolby digital cinema, custom designed for the house, wireless broadband covering 75% of the house and a fully fitted kitchen with dual ovens, dual hobs, dual dishwasher, and dual fridge freezers. The gate intercom, and electronically opened gates and garage add extra privacy measures to this already secluded property. The third floor has been completely conceived as a play room for the younger members of the family. Contact us now to get a chance to view this once-in-a-lifetime property.
